Certification Program Overview
Dr. Harvey Karp, renowned pediatrician, explains how calming even the fussiest infants is easy once you can see the world from their point of view. In the womb, babies are continually fed, shushed, jiggled and cuddled. After birth they are often left alone, in almost total stillness, for hours a day! This abrupt change can trigger waves of crying which may erode a parent’s confidence and lead to exhaustion, nursing failure, marital stress, postpartum depression and even abuse. No wonder so many parents and babies have trouble adjusting during those first three months. As a certified instructor of The Happiest Baby, you will master Dr. Karp’s extraordinary approach and learn exactly how to teach the method to new parents and caregivers…step-by step.

Institution Discount
Any institution that chooses to certify four instructors will receive a free certification program for a fifth participant. The Director of Education from The Happiest Baby, Inc. will contact a representative from the institution for the names of all participants.

The Parent Kits - Each parent or couple that attends a class must receive a Parent Kit.

The Parent Kit includes a choice of The Happiest Baby on the Block VHS or DVD (VHS is available in Spanish upon request) and the Soothing Sounds CD.
This kit provides valuable refresher information and visual guidelines for parents. After learning The Happiest Baby techniques in class, parents greatly benefit from watching the video and sharing the techniques with family and caregivers.

Course
The Happiest Baby (THB) Class Curriculum is presented as a two to three hour course. The complete curriculum includes: The Missing 4th Trimester, The Calming Reflex, The 5 S’s, The Cuddle Cure and Commonly Asked Questions. Instructors All sites registered to teach THB utilize only certified instructors. The process of certification ensures a high level of familiarity and competence with the methodologies.
